Foundation Stones is inviting everyone to paint a commemorative stone to become part of the UK Holocaust Memorial. Inspired by the Jewish custom of laying stones on graves, each Foundation Stone is a commitment to remember the past and to build a future free from all forms of hatred. This event will ensure that the story of Homecoming on Alderney and the victims of Nazi persecution on the island are both remembered and represented as part of the national memorial in London. All you need to take part is a small stone that fits in the palm of your hand and whatever decorating materials you have to hand at home.
