The President of the States of Alderney, William Tate called a States Meeting at unprecedentedly short notice: the meeting of States Members was scheduled to take place at 11am on January 11.

The reason for convening Alderney law-makers in such a meeting was to consider a singleitem Billet: namely, enactment of The European Communities (Corona Vaccine ) (Immunity from Civil Liability) (Alderney) Ordinance 2020..

The next routine States Meeting was originally scheduled for the 13th January 2020, but this item of legislation has been brought forward to a special meeting so that the AstraZeneca vaccine can start to be given by the IMC today.

President Tate said yesterday: “It is my intention to invite the States to deal with the Ordinance and I will then adjourn the Meeting to Wednesday the 13th as originally planned, for all the outstanding matters to be dealt with.”
