Guernsey Law enforcement has recently issued the following statement:
“We’re back in lockdown, and so you need to stay home apart from your essential shopping, medical appointments, and 2 hours of exercise.
There is a ‘BUT’ at the end of that statement though. If you are not safe in your home, don’t stay there. Just because this is an unprecedented time does not mean domestic abuse – in any form – will be tolerated. We will continue to take robust action.
Safer.gg has produced a guide for victims and survivors of domestic abuse in Guernsey, Alderney and Sark during lockdown due to COVID-19 (Coronavirus). If you or someone you know is a victim of domestic abuse you are not alone – Safer can help you. The information can be found on our domestic abuse support page: https://covid19.gov.gg/support/abuse. Safer also have a 24 hour helpline for Domestic Abuse on 01481 721999.
If anyone is in immediate danger, please don’t hesitate and call 999.”
