Alderney’s RNLI Lifeboat crew went to the rescue of a local vessel in danger of drifting onto rocks at Telegraph Bay today.
The call came at around 3pm and RNLI volunteers launched the all weather Roy Barker I from its mooring at Braye.
They arrived at 3.10pm to find an 8m local motor vessel with four people on board that had suffered electrical failure. It had anchored in Telegraph Bay but it had dragged its anchor and was perilously close to rocks.
A crew member was transferred to the stricken vessel and secured a tow to the RNLI lifeboat. The vessel was manoeuvred away from the rocks and both were back in Braye Harbour by 4.30pm.
