Speaking today with Tracy Jean, practice manager at the Island Medical Centre, AY News was interested to get an understanding of the progress in vaccinations on the island.
Tracy told us that “by about 4pm today (Wed 27th Jan) we will have vaccinated nearly 700 people who are over 70 or clinically extremely vulnerable”.
The IMC have secured a further batch of 20 vials (200 doses) to be delivered to Alderney on Thursday/Friday. Of course, this is weather related (meaning “if they get into Guernsey then get into Alderney!
At that point the IMC will be calling the 65+ with an active GY number. The clinic will be staffed all day Saturday from 9 am until they use all the doses for those people that are to be notified.
“The IMC team are all committed to delivering the IMC Alderney Vaccination Programme as quickly and efficiently as possible . Team IMC are all working extremely hard and enjoying the challenge and satisfaction of doing something so positive for our island.”
Please do not call the IMC to query your vaccination time. They will call you.
If you are an Alderney resident with a valid GY number and believe you are not yet registered with the IMC, please contact them on 01481 822077. Please do bear in mind how busy they are just now when you contact them.
