To commemorate the 75th anniversary of the Homecoming, President William Tate has commissioned a plaque which will be unveiled in the Memorial Gardens at 10.30am on Monday the 3rd of May.
There will be a short ceremony and a prayer of dedication by Reverend Fowler.
Sally Bohan and Patsy Martel will unveil the plaque. Sally and Patsy both themselves Homecomers and their family has maintained the Hammond Memorial which serves as a continuing reminder of the sacrifices made by those brave souls who perished during that difficult period, and provided the backdrop upon which the Homecomers rebuilt the Island and the community.
All members of the community are welcome to attend.
