Aurigny may have been offered the Public Service tender put out by the States of Guernsey.
New President of the Policy and Finance Committee Peter Ferbrache hinted that was the case when Alderney Representative Alex Snowdon asked him for an update on the PSO.
Deputy Ferbrache responded:
‘P&R has written to Aurigny in the last week or so. We haven’t had a response yet – and I’m not suggesting any reasonable delay on their part – but if that’s accepted that will resolve the issue. We’ve sent a letter to them, they’ve got a brand new Chief Executive, who I believe started work this week, and we do expect a reply back soon.’
James Dent, chairman of Alderney’s Policy and Finance Committee, said they were waiting for information from P&R.
