1 min read

One of the Georgian House pub staff is waiting for test results after experiencing mild Covid-like symptoms.

The Victoria Street pub was closed today as a precaution.

The staff member has been isolating with their family for the past 24 hours.

In a statement on social media this morning they explained they wanted to be open about the situation in order to quash rumours.

They said:

‘One of our team was displaying mild ‘Covid-like symptoms yesterday and had a test that very morning – we are still awaiting results.

‘The team member is in isolation with their family and they are waiting for the results. It is highly unlikely it is Covid, but we are being precautionary.

‘We had hoped for a result last night and we had planned to explain our closure then. We will update you as soon as it is appropriate to do so, but for now we will remain closed until we have news of a negative result.’

They added that the situation was in the safe hands of the Island Medical Centre ant the Public Health department in Guernsey.
