The States of Alderney announced today that it is inviting expressions-of-interest from ferry service providers for operating a seasonal ferry service between Guernsey and Alderney. This will be initially for 2021 with a States option to extend the contract on an annual basis for a further two years.
Interested parties should indicate the frequency of any service they might offer, the period covered, and any assistance required.
It is envisaged that a minimum service for the Guernsey route at least would involve double rotations on at least two days (Fridays and Sundays) to facilitate overnight visits to Alderney. Any other constraints also need to be included in submissions.
The invitation is being circulated amongst a number of potential operators who may be interested in any contract awarded for ferry services between Alderney and Guernsey. It is also being advertised in the local media in both Guernsey and Alderney. However, the States are inviting expressions of interest on a no commitment basis, reserving the right not to award a contract to the most financially beneficial or any bidder.
