English university fees slashed for islanders

1 min read

Alderney’s young people who attend univeristy in England will not have to pay ‘international’ fees from this September, it was announced recently.

In recent years, students from the Crown Dependencies (Alderney, Guernsey, Isle of Man, Jersey and Sark) have been charged the higher rate by English higher educational institutions.

Now, thanks to an agreement between the Islands and the UK, Channel Islands will now be able to attend on an equal basis with English students. (There are different rules in Scotland, where university education is free)
