Speaking in the regularly scheduled briefing today, Dep. Peter Ferbrache, the Chair of the CDC said that Alderney and Sark would follow a slightly different timetable to Guernsey in exiting the current lockdown.

Later in the briefing Dep Ferbrache confirmed that detailed discussions had been held with Alderney and Sark, and it was indeed possible that the two smaller islands could move faster than Guernsey, though nothing had yet been decided.

  1. With: a) over 1000 people vaccinated. 56% of population. b) With only one track and traced positive case in isolation. c) Come Saturday, we will be 21 days since lockdown was first imposed. . d) 14 days quarantine in place for ALL vistors from off-island.

It is reliable science to say that there is no community seeding of the disease on AY. .

There seems to be a very strong case that all shops and businesses on AY could and should re-open for the internal island market to get the internal economy going. The balance of economy, mental health versus Covid is a very fine one and the debilitating effects of the former should not be under-estimated.
